GENERAL SCHOOL INFORMATION
The children arrive at 8.45 am.
School Ends: 3.15 pm
It is really important for our pupils to attend regularly. Please try to keep absences to a minimum. We aim to contact parents on the first day of a pupil’s absence. It would help if parents informed school of their child’s absence as soon as possible. Please do not report absences via Seesaw or via the bus escort. The school office is manned from 8.30am until 4.00pm every day. The school answerphone will be available to leave messages at other times. We would rather a pupil came in late than miss a whole day at school.
Arrival/Departure in/from school during lunchtime
Please note that if your child is absent any time in the morning e.g. for an appointment, and you wish them to receive a school meal, they must return to school before 11.45am. We are unable to receive pupils back into school over the lunchtime period, which is from 11.45am to 1.15pm. If pupils are collected from school during the lunchtime period school cannot guarantee that they will receive their lunch dependent on the time.

Heatherwood School Policy regarding general illness of pupils
In an effort to reduce the spread of illness throughout school, children who are unwell as a result of general illness e.g. heavy cold, sickness or diarrhoea should remain at home until they have been symptom free for at least 48 hours.
Parents will be asked to collect their child from school in the event of them having a high temperature, being sick, stomach upset or presenting as generally unfit to remain in school. The decision is never taken lightly, but is always made in the child’s best interests. When this does occur, your child should not return to school the following day.
The majority of our pupils are very vulnerable to infection and following these simple procedures should help reduce the spread of infection for all.
