Cognition

In cognition, we will be exploring different types of weather and spending time outside in the sensory and wildlife gardens to experience this. We will be exploring dry and wet textures from the gardens, including leaves and twigs and noticing the difference in their textures. We will be exploring rhythm, especially in music. On B side, some of us will be continuing to work on representing numbers to 5 and recognizing symbols for weather types. We will be working hard in our engagement and attention sessions to develop the length of time we can engage with a stimuli.

Physical

We will be participating in PE activities, swimming, Rebound and accessing the swings in the hall each week. During PE, we will work on our ball skills through playing boccia and basketball. We will also work on gross motor development through body awareness sessions twice weekly. In these sessions we will work on showing our preferences, responding to music and movement and stretching our muscles. We will also experience regular positional changes and complete our physio or MOVE programmes throughout the week.

 SEMH

We will continue to take part in our ‘quiet time’ sessions, including candle time and ready to learn regulation – where we will listen to calm music, explore bubbles and track sensory lights.

We will be visiting our friends around school to develop our social interaction, and spend time out of our chairs in soft play with our friends. We will be spending time learning to identify different areas of our school.

On B side, we will also be recognising some basic symbols to express our feelings. A and B side will be working on recognising their peers from photographs.

Autumn term is one for lots of celebrations. We will take part in fundraising days such as Jeans for Genes, MacMillan coffee morning, Harvest Festival and Christmas celebrations!

Rosie from DARTS will join us again for our music sessions this term!
