  • Duke of Edinburgh Camping Trip

    Last week, students from The Key spent two nights at Walesby Forest. Whilst there, they practised the skills they will need to complete their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. Thank you to the staff who made this trip possible and also to the two peer mentors who supported the other students with their camping knowledge.

  • Pride Enrichment Day

    23rd May 2025

    As part of Pride Enrichment Day we looked at diversity and explored how we can make sure that everyone is welcome, everyone has a voice and most importantly everyone is valued.

    Pupils wore colourful clothes, took part in creative activities and finished the day with a "Cheesy Disco."

  • Wizard of Oz

    Heatherwood students enjoyed a visit from M&M Theatrical productions on 13th May 2025. Their performance of the Wizard of Oz was magical. The company will be coming back to Heatherwood with a new show next year. We can't wait to see them again!

  • Boccia Tournament

    Well done to the group of pupils from The Key who represented Heatherwood at a local Boccia Tournament on 6th May 2025. We are pleased to announce that their team won the competition. 

    Boccia is a target sport played indoors with soft leather balls, and is designed for athletes with high support needs. To learn more about Boccia click on the link below:

  • Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards

    An enormous WELL DONE to our pupils who completed their Duke of Edinburgh Gold awards. Two students travelled to Buckingham Palace yesterday to collect their award from Prince Edward and attend his celebratory garden party.

  • VE Day 80th Anniversay Celebrations

    Thursday, 8th May was the 80th Anniversary of V.E. Day and everyone at Heatherwood enjoyed celebrating the occasion. The school held a street party (with fish and chip lunch) which was followed in the afternoon by a 1940s themed disco.

  • Earth Day Scarecrow

    Heatherwood celebrated Earth Day in April by creating scarecrows from recycled bottles and other objects. Early Years and Purple Class collaborated to make their super scarecrow.

  • Nexus MAT Sing and Sign Choir

    Well done to Blue Class who represented Heatherwood in the Nexus MAT Sing and Sign Choir on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025. The event was held at Gulliver's Valley Resort in Rotherham, and Blue Class' performance was amazing.

    As part of their Easter Enrichment Day on 17th April 2025, our pupils enjoyed an egg-cellent assembly! Thank you to our local Church Group who gave a cracking performance!

    Our pupils also had fun with Easter crafts and participating in other themed activities.

    Great fun was had by all at Heatherwood's Easter Holiday Club. Activities included Easter crafts, sports, dancing, cooking, swimming, gardening and lots of fun with our friends. Thank you to all the staff who gave their time to make the club a success.

    Monday, 31st March 2025 - Friday, 11th April 2025 - School closed for the end of Spring Term Break.

    At 8:45am on Monday, 14th April 2025 - school reopens to pupils.
