In cognition, we will be developing our knowledge of numbers, 2D and 3D shapes and time. We will learn about Cubism and the theory behind this revolutionary art style, explore examples of Cubist artwork, and find out more about Pablo Picasso. We will then create our own Cubist-inspired animal artwork, alongside personal interpretations of winter and its beauty. |
Social, Emotional and Mental Health

We will be further developing our’ understanding of personal safety, learning to recognise safe and unsafe situations and identify appropriate and inappropriate behaviours. Through structured discussions, stories and role-play, we will explore how different situations might make them feel and what actions we can take if something does not feel right. As part of our daily Good Morning routine, we will continue to check in using the Zones of Regulation, supported by visual prompts and mirrors to help match facial expressions to feelings. We will also begin to explore the online world in a simple and accessible way, learning that not everything we see or hear online is safe. Pupils will be taught basic rules such as telling a trusted adult, recognising unsafe content, and understanding how technology should be used safely. Alongside this, we will practise sharing, turn-taking and playing fairly with our friends through a range of adult-led activities, supporting the development of healthy and respectful relationships. |
