On 26th June 2025, we said "goodbye" to eight of our fantastic Year 14 students. Their last week saw more memories being made: final trips, a celebration assembly and Post 16 party.
It has been wonderful knowing you all and watching your progress at Heatherwood. We wish you all good luck and best wishes for the future.
Over the past two weeks, a small group of pupils have represented Heatherwood at the Nexus Primary and Secondary Olympics. They took part in a range of activities and games alongside pupils from other Nexus schools. Well done to all involved.
On 20th June 2025, a group of our Year 14 students enjoyed one final trip with their Heatherwood teachers and friends. They spent an action-packed day in London, including a river cruise on the Thames.

Summer is here and the weather is hot. Students have enjoyed the opportunity to take part in lots of water related activities in different areas of our school.
Thank you to all the parents, carers, governors and staff who came to support our latest bingo event on 17th June 2025. We are pleased to announce that £385.60 was raised for school funds.
Heatherwood hosted another successful Sports Day on Friday, 13th June 2025. All activities were adaptable and perfectly suited to the needs of our students. Thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to show their support. We hope you had as much fun as the pupils.
Congratulations to six of our students who completed the expedition element of their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards last week. They spent three days and two days demonstrating their camping, cooking and hiking skills to a high standard. Thank you also to the Heatherwood staff who made this trip possible.
Last week, students from The Key spent two nights at Walesby Forest. Whilst there, they practised the skills they will need to complete their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. Thank you to the staff who made this trip possible and also to the two peer mentors who supported the other students with their camping knowledge.
We love learning about other cultures and festivals at Heatherwood. On 6th June 2025, pupils participated in various activities to celebrate Eid al-Adha.

As part of Pride Enrichment Day we looked at diversity and explored how we can make sure that everyone is welcome, everyone has a voice and most importantly everyone is valued.
Pupils wore colourful clothes, took part in creative activities and finished the day with a "Cheesy Disco."
Heatherwood students enjoyed a visit from M&M Theatrical productions on 13th May 2025. Their performance of the Wizard of Oz was magical. The company will be coming back to Heatherwood with a new show next year. We can't wait to see them again!
