  • Happy New Year 2026!

    Welcome back! It was wonderful to see so many of you back at school yesterday.

    We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. 

     

    Important Dates: 

    • 26th to 30th January - Open Week (parents welcome)
    • 13th February - School closes at 3pm for Half Term break
    • 23rd February - School re-opens to pupils at 8:45am
    • 6th March - World Book Day
    • 27th March - School closes at 3pm for the Easter holidays
    • 13th April - Training Day (school closed to pupils)
    • 14th April - School re-opens for pupils at 8:45am

     

    Reminders:

    • Please regularly read your seesaw and text messages for updates (as dates can be subject to change). 
    • Please also remember to label your child's property (clothing, bag, drinks bottle etc), and to only send snacks to school which are nut-free. 
    • If there are any changes to your contact details (address, phone number etc), please remember to inform school as soon as possible.

  • Heatherwood Christmas Concert

    Well done to all of the Heatherwood Stars who performed wonderfully in our Christmas concerts. Parents enjoyed the extravaganza, and some even shed a tear or two because of how proud they were of you all.

    Thank you to the Outwood Academy Danum Choir who entertained our pupils yesterday morning. It was lovely to hear you all singing a selection of Christmas songs. Heatherwood pupils and staff really enjoyed your performance.

  • Santa and his reindeer visit Heatherwood

    Published 17/12/25

    Santa has a busy schedule at this time of year, but he still managed to find time to visit Heatherwood with two of his reindeer on 16th December. It was a magical experience for our pupils and families.

    Thank you to everyone who contributed towards the fee to make this enrichment activity possible. Donations can still be made on Parentpay (item: Reindeer Experience).

  • Christmas Fayre and Fun Day

    Families were invited to Heatherwood on 12th December to join pupils at their Christmas Fayre and Fun Day. There were lots of sensory activities, games and traditional stalls for everyone to enjoy. 

    We are pleased to announce that with your support we were able to raise £359.72 for school funds.

    Thank you to everyone who attended the event.

    Thank you also to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket, donated prizes or contributed their help to make the event successful. All raffle prizes have now been claimed.

  • Christmas Dinner and Jumper Day

    Whilst wearing their festive jumpers, pupils and staff all enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner together on 11th December. Lots of Brussels sprouts were eaten!

    Thank you to Jenny, Terri and Pat who cooked over 150 meals at Heatherwood. 

    Thank you also to the Relish Team who cooked the meals for The Key Class and staff at The Bridge.

    You provided a truly amazing feast for everyone.

    Our pupils love learning about Christmas traditions. On 10th December, classes made Christingles. The juicy oranges smelled lovely!

  • He's behind you!

    As part of their enrichment day, The Key class went to the Cast Theatre to see a pantomime (Cinderella). Everyone enjoyed the show and had lots of fun.

    Pupils on Heatherwood Site will also see a traditional pantomime in January when M & M Productions visit the school.
