Topic: World Wars
Literacy

In literacy, our key text for this term is War Horse. We will be learning about key characters in the book and constructing sentences using colourful semantics. In phonics we are continuing to develop our understanding on set 1 and 2 sounds. |
Maths
In Maths, we will continue to work on our numerical fluency and confidence to 5, 10 and 20. We will also be applying our learning to addition and subtraction and using this to solve problems.
My World
In our My World topic we will be focusing on Geography and different countries around the world. We are also learning about WW1 and the amazing history of our country and the rest of the world.
PSHCE/RSE
In PSHE we will be learning about our own bodies and identifying and recognising our own body parts. We will learn about being more aware of our bodies and what to do if something is not right.
Physical
In PE, we will be focusing on movements and control of our own bodies. We will also be looking at control of equipment such as balls and parachutes. We have the pleasure of learning dance with Anj this term and cannot wait to come up with some amazing routines.
Life Skills
In life skills, we will be cooking every Tuesday. We will be looking at how to use utensils safely, follow recipes and ensure we practise good hygiene skills. We will be exploring different foods used in festivals from all around the world and have a go at making some delicious recipes!
Music
This term we have the pleasure of Simon coming into class and teaching us music. We will be learning about different instruments, rhythms and beats to create our own music.
I.T.
In I.T. we will be using the I.T. Suite and exploring the different types of I.T. equipment within a school. We will be looking at how technology can be controlled by using switches, the magic carpet, the sensory pod, Ipads and computers.
