Welcome to Blue Class
The Blue Class Teacher is John Wilkinson.
What we are learning in the Spring Term:
Who Lives Where?
Peep Inside Animal Homes
We will continue to:
As part of the Bridge and Intentional pathway studies in the Spring Term, Blue Class will be exploring our topic: Animal Habitats. This will happen through a blend of exploratory play, creative animal related work and more formal learning linked to the CORE curriculum. We will use our communication and deductive skills to identify animals, different habitats and different parts of the world and begin to link them to our own experiences. We will use ICT generated hardware and software to engage with activities with an animal/habitat theme.
This will link to the exciting Science Week planned for the 21st to 25th March where we will have visitors from Austerfield and Sam’s Safari. Our students will learn about the animals, their natural habitat and how they feel, as well as make some animal homes for our wildlife garden.
If permitted, we will get out within the local community such habitat hunting in Sandal Beat Woods, visiting the lake area at Sandal Park and continue to access our own school outside learning spaces; our sensory garden and the wildlife garden. In addition, we could potentially visit Yorkshire Wildlife Park to view some of the exotic animals and their habitats right here in Doncaster.
